I don't own anything except this story. Teen Titans belong to DC comics
Neither Raven or Gar knew when it started, but one Halloween night, Gar was watching his annual monster movie Halloween marathon when he noticed that Raven was sitting on the far side of the couch. He thought this was odd because usually she would have been in her room the entire day and night of Halloween, and yet, she was actually watching the movies with him, even if she was sitting on the opposite side of the couch. She stayed the whole time and when the marathon ended, she got up and went to her room, leaving Gar to wonder why she had staid, but didn't mention it later. The same thing happened the next Halloween, and the next. It continued to happen until it became normal, Raven never missed it, and as time went on, she slowly sat closer to him on the couch, it wasn't noticeable at first, but it slowly became clear that she was moving closer each Halloween. Then on the 9th Halloween from when it started, Raven wasn't on the couch, and Gar felt worried and a bit hurt in his heart. Suddenly he heard the sound of popcorn being popped and candy being poured into a separate bowl. He turned his head back towards the kitchen and to his surprise, he saw Raven in a grey sweatshirt, with dark blue sweatpants making popcorn. When everything was ready, she picked up both bowls, took them over and set the candy one on the coffee table before sitting down right next to Gar, pulling her feet up and leaning against him and placing the popcorn bowl in his lap. Gar blinked in surprise, but when he saw the small smile on Raven's face when she looked up at him, his heart skipped a beat.
"S-Smells good Rae." He stuttered, but the smell that he was actually smelling was Raven's luscious, beautiful, freshly washed, lavender hair, as well as her personal scent. It smelled of books, lilac, beauty, kindness, and strangely, affection. Raven smiled again and ate some popcorn, snuggling in closer to Gar, inhaling his scent, which smelled of earth, comic books, surprise, but also a hint of affection as well. Many movies later and both the popcorn and candy were finished, the bowls forgotten on the coffee table, Raven and Gar were huddled together, their arms around each other as the scary parts made them jump. After one such scare, their faces were so close together that when they turned their heads to look at each other, their lips brushed together for a moment before they quickly turned away from embarrassment. "Did we just...Kiss?!" They thought frantically.
"We just...we just...just...she tastes like sweet strawberries...how did she know they're m- No Gar! This is Raven! It was an accident-"
"He probably doesn't feel the same way about me! Even if it felt really nice and the taste was soooo- No! We're just friends! ALL OF YOU BE QUIET!" Raven thought to herselves, Love and Timid being the loudest. "The kiss was an accident, it's that simple." Raven justified to herself.
"So what if it was? It felt good! We need to kiss him again!" Love retorted, with Happy backing her up. While the inner argument was going on, Gar and Raven shifted nervously on the couch, unsure what to do. Then something pulled Gar to lean down a little a gently kiss Raven's cheek, the look of shock on both of their faces.
"I just...kissed her on the cheek." Gar thought as he pulled back, which allowed Raven to turn her head towards him and stare in shock. Neither of them noticing the exploded microwave, toaster, and a few lights thanks to Raven's powers. They locked eyes together, and felt a pull towards each other. Raven was the first to slowly and hesitantly lean in towards Gar, her heart pounding as he leaned in towards her, the exchanged feel of each other's breath upon their lips before they gently and softly kissed. Neither of them moved, they were rooted to the spot as they felt something pass through the kiss. Slowly Gar wrapped his arms around Raven's petite waist, placing one hand at the base of her spine and the other on the back of her neck. Raven responded in kind by placing one hand on his back and the other slowly ran up through the back of his head through his green hair. The kiss slowly became more intimate, as well as passionate, but their hands never left their positions.
Finally they reluctantly broke the kiss and panted a little for air, their eyes opening in shock as they realized what they just did. Gar spoke first "That was..."
"Wrong. We're just friends, it was a fluke that's all." Raven cut him off and would have continued if Gar hadn't growled softly and placed a finger on her lips.
"If you really believed that, then why? Why didn't you break the kiss, slap me, get out of my grip, and leave the room?" He asked, a little annoyed and hurt by her reaction. "I know for a fact that none of your inner selves would have allowed it, not even Love and Lust, if you didn't feel something for me." He said rather angrily at her, which made her stare at him in shock before looking down in shame. Suddenly she felt a change in his aura, making her look up curiously. "Why are you so scared to admit your feelings Rae? Don't you know how much I care about you? How much I L-" He cut off and looked away with a pained look on his face.
"How much he whats?" Timid asked in Raven's mind, and the others began to wonder as well. Love and Timid looked at each other before looking up at Raven inside her mind. "Ask him, please ask him." Timid pleaded, and Raven listened.
"How much you...what?" She asked hesitantly, not daring to guess at what he was going to say. He turned to look at her and then looked away again, the anger faded, but the hurt look still remained a little, and oddly he was blushing. "How much you what?" She repeated with genuine curiosity, causing the green skinned Titan to blush more.
"I um...how much I..." He stuttered a bit as he tried to form the words. Somehow, he got the idea to hug her close and lift her chin up so that she was looking up into his eyes. He tried to form the words but he couldn't, all he could do was to stare deep into her eyes, hoping that his feelings would show through his own. Raven felt something draw her closer to him as they gazed deeply into each other's eyes.
"Y-Yes?" She asked softly, Gar's scent was intoxicating, and all of her inner selves sighed blissfully from it. She felt drawn to him and leaned in closer, she couldn't stop herself, even if as she was screaming in her head trying to figure out why it was happening. He looked deeply into her eyes and she saw something she didn't expect, pure Love. She gasped in shock, her eyes going wide as she saw him lean down closer to her, his scent overwhelming her senses.
"How m-much I..." He said slowly, his own senses being overwhelmed by Raven's scent. Finally their faces were very close together, their lips mere inches apart. They were both blushing and trying to control themselves. "I...Love...Y-" He began before Raven couldn't control herself or her inner selves any long and kissed him deeply on the lips, cutting him off. After a long time they slowly broke the kiss and Raven wrapped her arms around him and held him close, her face buried in his shoulder. "R-Rae-" He began breathlessly, but she placed a finger on his lips.
"If what you were about to say right before I kissed you was not the 'L' word, tell me now. I want the truth Garfield, be absolutely honest before I use my powers to torment you." She said, her face still buried in his shoulder and she lowered her finger so he could speak. When he said nothing, she slowly pulled away from his shoulder and looked up at him, fresh tears forming in her eyes.
"If I said that it was anything but 'Love' I'd be lying Rae." He said honestly, smiling gently and hugging her tight, placing a hand on the back of her head, softly caressing it. The gentle act surprised her, but son she closed her eyes and wept a little into his shoulder. "I Love You Rae, with All my heart." He whispered softly into her ear, which made her gasp. "I've always had feelings for you, I was just scared to tell you because I thought you didn't or never would feel the same way about me and I didn't want to put our friendship in jeopardy if you didn't feel the same way." He finished, all the while he was rubbing the back of her head gently and soothingly, and her heart as well as her inner selves sang for him. She gently pushed against his grip, and he eased up as she pulled back enough to look him in the eyes. She reached up and grabbed the back of his head weakly and pulled him down for another kiss.
"I...Love You too Gar, I've been in love with you since the day I saw your pointy green ears." She said after breaking the kiss, not looking up at him, but Gar could see the small smile on her face. They hugged each other close, a great deal happier, as well as new hope filling their hearts. The clock struck midnight loudly, which made them jump and look around the mostly destroyed living room.
"Oops...guess we need to clean up." Gar said with a nervous laugh, which made Raven giggle softly and nod. They quickly got to work and restored most of the damaged room to normal, except for some of Dick's questionable workout videos and all of Kori's Justin Beiber CDs. They giggled to each other and left the room arm in arm, coming to a stop at her door. They kissed each other softly on the lips before Raven went inside her room and the door closed behind her. A few moments later she heard a knock on her door. She got up from her bed and opened the door to find Gar standing in front of it. "Trick or Treat~"
"Oh just get in here already." She said, closing the door behind them. From that night on, they were a couple, and neither could forget that Halloween night that brought them together.
Happy Halloween Everybody
